A buzzing, contemporary twist on the traditional French restaurant.
Café Rouge will be celebrating its 30th birthday next year, having been founded in London in 1989 by two foodies on a mission to recreate real French food and wine in a Parisienne bistro style setting.
Today we continue to recreate core classics like Steak Frites, Poulet Breton, Moules and Boeuf Bourgignon as well as croques, salads, baguettes – and a glass of French wine. Our chefs and our food are at the heart of what we do, and we use great fresh ingredients, traditional French cooking methods and classic Rouge recipes all day every day.
We serve our breakfast menu – which includes pastries or a full cooked breakfast – until 12 noon, plus our A La Carte and a Seasonal Set Menu from 12 noon – and we have a fantastic children’s menu in two portion sizes to suit petit and grand appetites, from 2 – 12 years old.
Our Cardiff restaurant is centrally located on the first floor of St David’s Dewi Sant shopping centre, and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Upstairs we have a large private room available for meetings, parties and events – please call in or call us to ask for details; we don’t charge any room hire fees, and groups are always very welcome at any time of day.
Booking is not always necessary, however is recommended on event days at the Principality Stadium or Motorpoint Arena.
