Owned, managed and funded by Cardiff Council, the Hall has a wide range of live entertainment on offer. With two bars, plus participation workshops, conferences, helpful staff and relaxing surroundings, St David’s Hall is a building to be enjoyed by day and evening throughout the year.

An impressive 2,000-seat concert hall, with a visually stunning auditorium and arguably one of the best acoustics in Europe, since its official opening in 1983 St David’s Hall has delivered on the promise to become a centre of cultural excellence with a programme of diverse, quality entertainment, accessible to all.

Home to the annual Welsh Proms Cymru, the world-class International Concert Series featuring the world’s top orchestras, soloists and conductors, the famous bi-annual BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, and the annual visit of the Russian National Ballet, St David’s Hall presents a multitude of live entertainment, including pop, rock, folk, jazz, rhythm and blues, comedy, children’s shows, lunchtime concerts, musicals, light entertainment, dance, world music, films and classical music.

The stage has played host to many world class performers including Rudolph Nureyev, Tom Jones, Joan Baez, André Previn, Shirley Bassey, Bob Hope, Billy Connolly, Jamie Cullum, James Blunt, Will Young, Michael Bolton, Art Garfunkel and many more. The venue continues to attract rising new stars like internet sensations Dan & Phil, Gregory Porter and Hozier plus top quality comedians including Sarah Millican, Alan Carr, Bill Bailey and Dave Gorman whose recent shows have all been sell out successes.

Annually St David’s Hall hosts approximately 320 performances attended by audiences in excess of 250,000, as well as a number of varied conferences attracting delegates from across the UK & beyond, 17 degree ceremonies and a programme of community based education workshops.

Fully fitted for disabled access, the building is extremely versatile with technical facilities suitable for major conventions, annual general meetings and corporate presentations or, with a variety of meeting spaces available, smaller meetings, press briefings, training seminars and private lunches.

The venue also has function rooms as well as spacious foyers and bar areas with balconies that have views of the city on several levels.

St David’s Hall plays a major part in the Capital City’s artistic and cultural life and has helped in Cardiff’s continuing development into a cosmopolitan European city which attracts thousands of visitors each year.

Please contact us for directions. The John Lewis Car Park will be open daily from 6.30 am to half past midnight. The St David’s Shopping Centre car park is open 24 hours a day. Parking rates for both of these car parks from 5.00 pm onwards is £1 all evening.
